What a find. This rare, and historical, BMW was stored in a pumpkin barn for decades and was thought to be lost. There were only 257 of these built and this is certainly the most interesting of the bunch.
Originally owned by driver Hans Stuck, who drove it both casually and in racing situations until Elvis bought it from a dealer in Frankfurt whilst in the military. Another classic tidbit of information is that he had it painted red at one point to hide the lipstick messages female fans left on the car!
After it was found recently it has been given an extensive restoration by BMW Group Classic who had to built many of the parts from scratch as the original parts weren't readily available. Not only that but they created the parts using period-correct methods.
Amazing!
