Ask anyone and they will tell you the most iconic Mercedes is the gullwing SL. A little known fact for you is that only 2% of them were aluminium bodied. That means that the car in our photos is one of only 29 ever made. Along with its uniqueness this example was lovingly restored by specialists Kienle Automobiltechnik. Whilst keeping to its original roots there are also some nifty upgrades involved such as a Sonderteile engine kicking out 215bhp, sports suspension, Rudge knock-off wheels and a matching luggage set (and why not!).
